And like the full-size ViperJet, it combines the look of a fighter jet with the flight characteristics of a low-wing aerobatic aircraft, so more pilots can have fun flying jets - even if it's their very first fan model! It offers excellent speed, vertical climb and aerobatic performance while being easier to hand launch or land than other models in a similar class - especially the Bind-N-Fly Basic version, which features exclusive AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. And both versions feature a Spektrum Avian 70A Smart Lite ESC paired with a high-performance outrunner motor and 11-blade 64mm impeller to deliver amazing performance with 4S 2200-3200mAh batteries!

Like the full-size ViperJet, the E-flite Viper 64mm EDF offers the look and performance of a fighter jet with the flight characteristics of an aerobatic low-wing aircraft, so more pilots can have fun flying a jet! It's a true-to-life fan model that flies balanced and performs like a sport plane in the air - yet still allows for incredible top speeds and aerobatics. What really sets the Viper apart, however, is how easy it is to launch, fly and land by hand, making it the best choice in this model class for a wide range of pilots. No glue or special tools are required for assembly, and you can have the model ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! The lightweight, composite-reinforced EPO airframe is finished at the factory in the now legendary Aircraft Studio Design color scheme. And the seven factory-installed digital servos with ball linkages provide direct and precise control at any speed. It also features LED navigation and landing lights and factory-installed flaps for faster take-offs and landings and improved low-speed performance. The optionally mountable landing gear has a steerable nose wheel and damped trailing legs. You can also remove it without tools to gain more speed and vertical climbing performance when flying on grass! Molded finger recesses make hand launching easier. The BNF Basic version also offers an automatic hand launch assist mode, making it one of the easiest to launch models in its class.

Experience Level 2 - Some experience required
Experience Level 2 aircraft like this are for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to build, program and fly similar class models. And while this Viper is easier to fly than the larger models, it is not a suitable first RC airplane for beginners or a first fan model for EDF pilots with little flying experience. Before attempting to fly the Viper 64mm EDF, you should have the experience required to fly simpler fan models such as the Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm, or models of a similar class. Are you new to the model flying hobby? If so, the Viper 64mm is not the right first model airplane for you. We recommend that you learn to fly with one of our purpose-built beginner airplanes, such as the E-flite Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDF (www.horizonhobby.cc/HabuSTSRTF). It is equipped with the exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that allows almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes almost everything you need to fly (except a compatible LiPo battery and charger, which are available separately or together in an affordable PowerStage bundle) and is the perfect choice if you are a beginner model pilot.

Smart Technology
The exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC provides a variety of real-time telemetry data from the power system during flight, including total battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM and more - with both Smart and non-Smart batteries - via compatible receivers (including AR631) and Spektrum AirWare-equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others). In addition, the optional thrust reverser can shorten the rollout after landing and offers other special taxi maneuvers (a transmitter with 6-7+ channels is required for thrust reverser).

High performance
The 11-blade (64mm) fan, brushless outrunner motor and 70A ESC combine with your 4S 2200-3200mAh 30+C LiPo for excellent vertical climb performance and a fantastic speed range with virtually instant throttle response. And what rounds off the experience perfectly is the amazing sound the propulsion system produces - almost like a real turbine engine.

Suspension options
You can install the included fixed landing gear with damped trailing legs and steerable nose wheel without tools to taxi, take off and land on smooth and short grass surfaces. Or you can omit the undercarriage for more airspeed and vertical climb performance and simply hand launch the model into the air using the molded finger recesses and the automatic hand launch assist mode (BNF Basic version only).

Functional landing flaps
The factory-installed landing flaps offer improved low-speed flight characteristics and at the same time enable take-off and landing on shorter runways at lower airspeeds. This makes the Viper 64mm the perfect second jet model for EDF beginner pilots.
