EVOLUTION OF A LEGEND

Many RC pilots took their first steps in Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) technology with the first version of the E-flite® Timber® 1.5m. Its pilot-friendly handling, sporty performance and incredible ability to take off and land at very short distances made it one of the most popular flying models of all time. It quickly found a wide fan base and was often recommended as the ideal second model after the first trainer. Pilots who wanted to enter the exciting world of STOL flying also turned to the E-flite® Timber® 1.5m because it was and still is simply one of the best all-round flying models on the market. Its successor, the Turbo Timber® 1.5m, proved to be even more popular than the original, as it scored points with features such as metal geared servos, a 3S and 4S-compatible drive system and a turboprop nose with 3-blade propeller. With the Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m, we're stepping up the upgrades once again and continuing the Timber legend in terms of robustness, comfort and versatility - and we've given it all a fresh new look!

SMARTER, STRONGER, AND MORE CAPABLE THAN EVER BEFORE

The E-flite® Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m has evolved into the smartest, most practical, and most capable version of the Timber yet! Of course, the popular features of the original Timber have all been retained: the sprung landing gear with oversized tundra-style wheels; the optional floats and slats as well as the functional splitter flaps and LED lighting with landing, navigation and strobe lights. Of course, the upgrades to the Turbo Timber® that gave it more power and versatility have also been carried over. These include the turboprop style nose, the 3-blade prop and spinner, the more powerful 3S and 4S compatible powerplant and the stiffened wings with robust and reliable metal geared servos. With the Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m we have gone one step further and realized access to the battery compartment on the top of the model to make battery changes even faster and more convenient and a combined connector makes wing mounting easier. Reinforced landing gear mounts and more robust springs on the Twin Timber 1.6m improve the durability and STOL capability of the model when flying over rough terrain. We've equipped the proven Turbo Timber motor with an exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ 70A Smart ESC and the BNF® Basic version with an AR637TA receiver to deliver full-range telemetry data to your compatible transmitter in real time. This includes the battery voltage, current, motor speed and more, and the controller even offers a thrust reverser for special maneuvers on the ground. All of this is of course available with the benefits of AS3X® and optional SAFE®Select technology. The color scheme of the durable, plastic-reinforced airframe has also been revised and looks fresh and modern. The Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m remains the best choice for a successor model after the first trainer and continues to offer a wide range of pilots a great everyday model with excellent STOL characteristics - we've just made it even better!

Experience level 3 - experience required
Experience Level 3 aircraft, such as this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already have the experience and skills to assemble, program and fly models of a similar class. This PNP version requires more experience and skill to assemble and fly than the BNF-Basic version, as you will need to install a receiver that does not already have the perfectly tuned AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. This is neither a suitable first RC airplane for beginners nor recommended as a second model after a trainer for RC pilots with little experience. Before flying the Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, you should have the necessary experience and skills to fly trainer models such as the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Decathlon RJG 1.2m, Valiant 1.3m or other models of a similar class.

Smart technology
Both the PNP and BNF® versions of the Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m are equipped with an exclusive 70A Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart ESC. This enables in-flight transmission of a range of drive-related real-time data such as motor speed, current flow, battery voltage and more when using a compatible receiver (such as the AR637T in the BNF version) and radio controls that feature Spektrum AirWare™ (such as the DX6e and 8e, DX6 and 8 G2, the DX9, iX12, iX20 and others). The controller also has additional features such as thrust reverser for special maneuvers on the ground.

Versatile chassis options
Dense grass, gravel roads or dirt tracks and even the local lake or pond - the Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m turns everything where other models of this size have to stay on the ground into a flying field. The robust and reinforced brackets in the fuselage with the reinforced springs of the Twin Timber 1.6m (new 2024) soak up the unevenness of rough surfaces and cushion unsuccessful landings. The oversized tundra-style wheels provide excellent ground clearance. The included floats feature dual rudders for excellent steering on the water. No matter which landing gear option you want to fly with, both are quickly fitted to the model and can be swapped out in minutes.

STOL-capable (Short Start off and Landing)
The Turbo Timber® Evolution wing has been equipped with special features such as lowered edge bows and functional split flaps and also offers a mount for the optional slats (included in the scope of delivery). This greatly improves low speed and STOL performance and these features, along with the lightweight design and high performance brushless motor, allow it to jump into the air within half a meter or land almost vertically in a hover.

Performance in abundance
The factory-installed brushless motor features a Spektrum™ Avian™ 70-A Smart ESC (new 2024) and a specially tuned motor with a 3-blade propeller. This combination already delivers plenty of thrust with a 3S LiPo. With a 4S LiPo, you get unlimited climb performance without having to make any changes or upgrades. The new top-accessible and larger battery compartment accommodates 3S 2200mAh to 4S 5000mAh batteries, allowing for a wide range of performance options and flight times.

Robust and maneuverable
The plastic-reinforced hollow core construction made of EPO material enables a lightweight yet durable airframe. The Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m also has a stiffened wing, which improves the efficiency of the ailerons and thus increases the roll rate. Of course, it is equipped with durable and reliable metal gear servos on all functions.

LED lighting
Like the original, the Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m features realistic looking LED landing, navigation and strobe lights. These are pre-installed at the factory and are powered by the flight battery.

Simple assembly
No glue is required for assembly and with only a few parts to screw together, the Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m is ready to fly faster than it takes to charge the battery. The two-piece wing, now equipped with a combined servo and LED connector, makes transportation and storage more convenient than ever.

Plug-N-Play version
This Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes with a factory-installed power system and servos ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately) and your provided transmitter and battery (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, complete the final assembly and fly!
