P-51D Mustang 60cc ARF, 89"
The Hangar 9 P-51D Mustang 60cc ARF is a detailed replica of the popular American original. The 1/5 scale model is based on a P-51 Mustang of the 357th Flying Squadron of the Second World War. The construction from lightweight balsa and plywood, which was then completely foiled, makes this model incredibly durable and gives it a strong scale effect.
Only a few details of the original had to give way to the high performance level of the model. The Mustang from Hangar 9 has a tail wheel in its original position, functional flaps for real scale take-offs and landings as well as internally mounted switches and invisible cable connections so as not to impair the scale effect.
One of the most important features for flying comfort is the three-part wing, which is easy to disassemble and assemble thanks to a simple plug-in connection and makes transportation easier. The horizontal stabilizers with airfoil are also easy to dismantle.
This Mustang comes with plenty of finished details right out of the box, including a removable antenna, dummy weapons and much more. Even the internal landing gear doors have been designed to work to scale with the corresponding components.
The articulated tail wheel also has flaps and can optionally be replaced by an electric retractable landing gear. With the original UltraCote film, the Mustang has an easy-to-maintain surface that is in no way inferior to that of a painted, restored full-size P-51D model.
Everything that needs to be considered in the development of a warbird model of this size has been taken into account to ensure the greatest possible comfort. The sliding roof and the spacious cockpit give enough room to add even more details. Two decal sheets with the insignia of the Glamorous Glen III flown by Cat Captain Chuck Yeager and the Gentleman Jim piloted by Captain James Browning are included with the model.
With this high degree of realism, you can even compete visually with the original machines that still exist.
The excellent development under the umbrella of the Hangar 9 brand allows you to control the model precisely on the ground, in the air and during any exciting competition situation.
The Mustang gets the power it needs from an electric or gasoline engine. The choice is yours, but the performance of a 50-60 cc gasoline engine is guaranteed to overwhelm you. The new 62GXi from Evolution with its electronic fuel injection and the latest Sure Fire technology not only delivers enormous power, but also saves you the otherwise annoying adjustment of the carburetor needles.
With the Mustang you can experience exactly what it was built for - gliding gracefully through the air like the heroes of the past.
