Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20cc Introduction

The North American-Rockwell OV-10 Bronco was designed as a versatile military aircraft used as a light attack and reconnaissance aircraft. The Bronco was used in the last years of the Vietnam War and in Operation Desert Storm. It was primarily used for anti-guerrilla operations as well as air support and supply missions. Many Broncos are still in service today, including as firefighting aircraft for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to fight and prevent forest fires.
As a scaled-down alternative to the larger version with a 2.74m wingspan for 30cc engines, the still large-looking Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20cc is finished in the CAL FIRE color scheme. The model is designed for common 20cc gasoline engines and comparable electric propulsion systems, making it more practical and affordable for more pilots!

Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 20cc Overview

The Hangar 9 OV-10 Bronco 30cc took the market by storm as our largest warbird to date. However, the wingspan of 2.74m presented many pilots with the problem of storing and transporting the model. The OV-10 Bronco 20cc is a scaled-down version with a wingspan of 2.13m, which still has that large model feeling, but remains suitable for everyday use and easy to transport. The three-part wing makes it possible to dismantle only the outer surfaces in order to transport the center section of the fuselage together with the side fuselages and the tailplane with the landing gear extended or retracted. Or you can disassemble all parts with a few more screws and transport and store everything separately. The smaller size also allows the use of cheaper and more popular 20cc engines and 6S electric motors.
Like the larger Bronco, this version also has a lightweight but stable and durable wooden construction. The color scheme is the same as the CAL FIRE OV-10 Bronco firefighting aircraft and is finished at the factory with UltraCote film and parts painted to match. With the included decals, you can personalize your model by adding the nose, N-number and city name of your choice. A variety of details, including a pitot tube, aerials, cockpit details, a pilot figure and more, provide an appealing scale look. Plus, the included electric retractable landing gear with dampened trailing legs enhances the prototypical appearance. And it all adds up to a unique and versatile scale model for experienced pilots!

Experience level 4 - experience required
Experience Level 4 aircraft, such as this one, are suitable for experienced modelers who already have the skills to assemble, program and fly models of a similar class. This is not a suitable beginner aircraft or an ARF model for pilots with little to intermediate flying experience.

The use of laser-cut balsa and plywood makes the OV-10 Bronco a lightweight, yet robust and durable model that has been carefully built to exacting standards.

Unique prototype
This OV-10 is a rare replica of the prototype that was used as a firefighting aircraft for fighting and preventing forest fires. It is covered with UltraCote film at the factory and can be personalized with stickers for the nose, N-number and city name.

With a wingspan of 2.13m, the OV-10 Bronco 20cc offers a more practical and affordable large model experience than the larger 2.74m wingspan Bronco.

The OV-10 Bronco 20cc can be flown with a variety of gasoline and electric engines. All parts to install the recommended 20cc gasoline engines and 6S electric motors are included to simplify assembly.

Scale Details
This OV-10 Bronco features a variety of prototypical details, including a nose light, pitot tube and antennas, and of course cockpit details such as a pilot figure, seats and instrument panels. Optional stub wings, armament and landing gear doors are also included. Optional additional tank dummies are also available separately.

Robust undercarriage
The included electric retractable landing gear features cushioned trailing legs to withstand the rough and tumble of grass and asphalt runways.
