Now the updated and improved E-Flite Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m has the most requested features, such as a top-mounted fuselage lid for easier and faster battery changes, more robust landing gear mounts and reinforced landing gear springs, consolidated connectors for easier wing assembly, and much more. E-flite Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m Overview

The E-flite Timber X 1.2m ushered in a new era of STOL models with 3D and aerobatic capabilities. Based on the hugely popular Timber 1.5m models but with a different wing design and oversized control surfaces, it offered an even more versatile flight envelope, allowing everything from relaxed place flying to aggressive 3D aerobatics. In addition to the standard LED landing, navigation and strobe lighting, the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m features integrated, highly visible LEDs throughout the airframe, making it possible to fly at virtually any time of day or night! It also features many updates and upgrades over the original Night Timber X, including an upper fuselage cover for faster, easier battery changes and consolidated connectors for easier wing installation. More robust landing gear mounts and reinforced landing gear springs similar to the Twin Timber 1.6m improve durability and STOL capability when flying over rough terrain.
Both versions are equipped with updated and reliable metal geared servos, a motor compatible with 3S and 4S 2200-3200 mAh batteries with a reinforced motor mount, and a more powerful 70A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC. The BNF Basic version is equipped with a factory-installed AR631+ receiver with exclusive and improved AS3X+ and optional SAFE Select technology. The receiver also provides real-time telemetry data including total battery voltage, current and more to compatible transmitters - with smart and non-smart batteries - as well as motor thrust reversing for special taxi maneuvers. Hollow-core EPO construction with fiber reinforcement results in a lightweight yet strong airframe that can withstand extreme aerobatic maneuvers but allows for low wing loading, allowing for impressive short takeoff (STOL) and slow flight characteristics. You can even use the included slats for further enhanced slow flight performance or install the optional floats (sold separately) to fly all day AND all night from the water!

Experience level 2 - Some experience required
Experience Level 2 aircraft such as this are suitable for model pilots who already have some experience and the skills to build, program and fly similar class models. Before attempting to fly the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m BNF Basic, you should have the experience required to fly models such as the T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.2m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or similar class models.

eXtra Smart technology
The exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC of the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m's exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC provides a variety of real-time telemetry data from the propulsion system during flight, including total battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM and more - with both Smart and non-Smart batteries - and via compatible receivers (including the AR631+) and Spektrum AirWare-equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others). In addition, a Smart model file is stored on the receiver, allowing you to import all model programming for NX and iX transmitters during the binding process.

eXtra exclusive technologies
The BNF Basic version is equipped with the exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. AS3X+ works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence for a safe feel that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger airplane. The optional SAFE Select offers bank angle limits as well as automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the touch of a button. And if you don't want to activate the SAFE Select function, simply bind the receiver normally and only AS3X+ is active.

eXtra LED lighting
Factory-installed LEDs throughout the airframe allow you to fly all day AND all night! They are conveniently powered by the 3S or 4S 2200-3200 mAh flight battery and the power supply can easily be interrupted for daylight flights. In addition, like other Timbers, the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m is equipped with prototype-like LED landing, navigation and strobe lighting.

eXtreme maneuverability
Compared to the Timber 1.5m models, the Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m has a wing design with a shortened wingspan and much larger ailerons and flaps as well as an enlarged elevator and rudder. Center-hinged control surfaces allow all control surfaces, including the landing flaps, to deflect in both directions. The large deflection ensures excellent model control and extreme 3D aerobatic ability. With no control surface deflection, the model is tame and relaxed to fly, so you can adapt the model to your flying style at any time.

eXtra Power
The factory-installed brushless power system features a 70A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC and a specially tuned motor and propeller that provides plenty of thrust with a 3S LiPo battery or eXtra Power and unlimited vertical climb performance with a 4S battery, with no modifications or upgrades required. In addition, the convenient upper fuselage lid and larger battery compartment makes it easy to install 3S and 4S 2200 - 3200 mAh batteries for a wide range of performance and flight time.

eXtremely durable
The composite-reinforced hollow core construction made of EPO material ensures a lightweight yet durable airframe. The Night Timber X Evolution 1.2m is also equipped with upgraded and reliable servos with metal gears for precise control in all conditions.

STOL-capable (Short Takeoff and Landing)
The wing design has a shortened wingspan, but almost as much wing area as the Timber 1.5m models. In addition to the optionally usable slats, the model has downswept edge arches, which also improve the low-speed and STOL characteristics. These features, together with the lightweight construction, the oversized control surfaces and the powerful brushless drive system, make it possible to literally jump into the air or land at a length of less than one meter.

Simple assembly
No glue is required for assembly and because the few parts that need to be assembled can simply be screwed together, the Night Timber X Evolution is ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge the flight battery. The two-piece wing, which now features merged connectors for the servo and LED contacts, also makes transportation and storage easier than ever before.

Versatile landing gear options
Tall grass, gravel or dirt roads, and even lakes and ponds are suitable surfaces for take-off and landing. The more robust landing gear mount on the fuselage and the shock-absorbing landing gear with reinforced springs similar to the Twin Timber 1.6m absorb the shocks of rough surfaces and not-so-good landings. And the oversized tundra-style wheels provide excellent propeller clearance. The optional float set (sold separately) features dual water rudders for excellent control on the water. No matter which landing gear option you choose, both are easy to install and can be swapped out in minutes.
