Introduction

The Weaver Aircraft Company of Ohio (WACO) was founded by aviators whose bold determination and love of aviation led them to produce over 60 different types of aircraft in just 28 years. This made WACO one of the leading aircraft manufacturers in the Golden Age of Aviation. In 1985, the founders of the Classic Aircraft Foundation set out to revive the legendary YMF model. And now E-flite® has updated and improved the UMX™ WACO to offer an even easier-to-fly and more capable tribute to this popular biplane! It features optional SAFE® Select, is both 2S and 3S compatible, and also offers real-time telemetry on compatible transmitters for drive battery voltage. Due to its ultra-micro size, the UMX WACO can be flown indoors in gyms and other suitable spaces or outdoors in many yards, parks and sports fields! It is an affordable, practical and easy-to-fly replica of the modern classic, which is also available in two colour schemes.

Overview

This updated and improved version of the E-flite UMX WACO is now equipped with optional SAFE Select, making it more stable to fly than ever before. Of course, the exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® is also present, giving you model flight behaviour that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger model, even in windy conditions. The factory-installed brushless power system features an upgraded 2S and 3S compatible outrunner motor. Use a 2S 280 mAh battery for model-like performance, or use a 3S 300 mAh battery for more airspeed and unlimited vertical climb performance. The control unit includes a speed controller and Spektrum™ receiver that transmits in-flight battery voltage via real-time telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare™-equipped transmitters. The model is made of advanced EPS material for a lightweight yet durable airframe and is now available in two colour schemes, including an all-yellow painted version and a lighter, unpainted white version. Best of all, this Bind-N-Fly® Basic model comes 100% factory assembled and ready to be bound to your 5+ channel DSMX®/DSM2® transmitter so you can be flying within minutes of opening the box! The biplane design with low wing loading and ultra-micro size are perfect for indoor flying in gyms and similar large spaces or virtually anywhere outdoors - from yards to parks, sports fields and similar areas.





Bind-N-Fly version
Already own a Spektrum transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make it easier than ever to get in the air quickly and with the best possible flying fun. They come with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4 GHz receiver installed. All you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, complete the final assembly and you're ready to fly!


Exclusive technologies
This UMX WACO is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence for a safe feel that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger aircraft. The optional SAFE Select offers bank angle limitations as well as automatic self-levelling that can be switched on and off at the touch of a button, making this the easiest WACO model to fly yet!


Telemetry capable
The UMX WACO is equipped with a control unit that includes a speed controller and a Spektrum receiver that transmits flight battery voltage in real-time telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others).


High performance
The factory-installed brushless drive system features a 2S and 3S compatible outrunner motor. This upgraded power system offers model-like performance when used with 2S 280?300 mAh batteries (a suitable JST-RCY to JST-PH adapter, including SPMXCA327, may be required), or more airspeed and unlimited vertical climb performance when powered by 3S 300 mAh batteries.


Scale finish
The factory-finished airframe features a variety of scale details, including an implied bracing and a pilot figure with scarf. Two colour schemes are now also available, including an all-yellow painted version and a lighter, unpainted white version.


Lightweight construction
The advanced EPS material construction ensures a lightweight yet durable airframe. And in the unfortunate event that you damage aircraft parts or components and can't repair them, a full range of spare parts is available.

Experience level 2: Some experience required
Experience Level 2 aircraft like this are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to build, programme and fly similar class models. And although this is the easiest WACO model to fly to date, it is not a suitable first RC aircraft for beginners or a 'next step after a trainer' model for RC pilots with little flying experience. Before attempting to fly the UMX WACO, you should have the experience and skills necessary to master high-performance ultra-micro models such as the various UMX Timber models or larger models such as the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Commander mPd 1.4m and Timber 1.5m series models, or models of a similar class.
