With the E-flite® F-14 Tomcat Twin 40mm EDF, more pilots can fly a replica of the legendary fighter than ever before! Developed for the US Navy, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat first saw service aboard the USS Enterprise in 1974, replacing the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. This E-flite model is based on the F-14D Super Tomcat variant, and the factory-applied paint scheme pays homage to the Strike Fighter Squadron 2 (VFA-2), also known as the famous "Bounty Hunters". During its deployment in 2002-2003 - the last operational tour by an aircraft carrier with the Tomcat - VF-2 participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, flying reconnaissance, close air support, CAP and strike missions. The F-14 Tomcat Twin 40mm EDF replicates the VF-2 fighter down to the functional swing wings and pendulum empennage to provide an authentic and unique flying experience. The F-14 is sized to fly in a variety of flight envelopes and is compatible with the popular 4S 2200mAh LiPos. This is the first F-14 Tomcat model equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make this an easier to fly Tomcat!

 

Telemetry Capability

The F-14 Tomcat Twin 40mm EDF is equipped with a control unit including a receiver and ESCs that provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more to compatible Spektrum™ AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12™, iX20™ and others) while you fly.
